Thailand is one of the most captivating tourist destinations in Southeast Asia, often referred to as “the Land of Smiles” due to the warmth of its people. Its charm lies in a rich blend of ancient Buddhist temples, floating markets, idyllic beaches like Krabi and Phi Phi, and vibrant cities such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai

Day 1 – Bangkok – Arrival

Travelers will meet a representative holding a sign with their names.

Gate 6 on the 2nd floor (arrivals). It is one of the 10 doors leading outside. The guide will wait inside holding a sign with their names.

The guide will wait at the airport for up to 2 hours from the flight’s landing time. In case of long immigration lines or any delays, please connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi and notify us via WhatsApp call so we can coordinate the pickup accordingly.

Day 2 – Bangkok – Bangkok City Tour

Hotel pickup: 07:40–08:00

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast at the hotel, the guide will meet us at the reception to head to the Golden Buddha or Wat Traimit in the heart of Chinatown. The Golden Buddha is one of the most important representations of Buddha in Thailand, a 5.5-ton gold statue from the Sukhothai era, of immeasurable value.

Next, we’ll visit the splendid Royal Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. These are located within the same complex, starting with Wat Phra Kaew, where we’ll see the Emerald Buddha carved from a single piece of jade. Then we’ll visit the Royal Palace, pride of the Thai people and former residence of the Kings until the 19th century.

Later, we’ll visit “Wat Pho” or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Besides the impressive Buddha image, this temple was the first school of traditional Thai medicine and massage, considered the country’s first university.

We’ll return to the hotel around 12–1 PM and have the afternoon free.

*It’s important to wear long pants and a shirt with sleeves to enter the Grand Palace.

Day 3 – Bangkok – Railway Market and Floating Market

Hotel pickup: 06:40–07:00

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, we’ll head to the Railway Market or Talad Rom Huup (80 km away). This is a 100% local market where residents shop daily. Six times a day, shopping is interrupted by a train passing through the market. If we’re lucky and the train runs on schedule, we’ll witness vendors dismantling their stalls in record time to let the old train pass—amazing and surreal!

Even if the train doesn’t pass, we’ll explore the market and its wide variety of everyday products.

Then we’ll go to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market (15 km further), the most famous and touristy market in the country, featured in many travel catalogs. A boat ride is included at the floating market.

We’ll return to the hotel around 1 PM and have the afternoon free.

Day 4 – Bangkok – Ayutthaya Ruins – Flight to Chiang Rai

Hotel pickup: 07:10–07:30

Meals: Breakfast

We’ll depart Bangkok for the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam, Ayutthaya. It’s believed the city once had a population of one million when major European cities were much smaller.

Ambassadors from Portugal, Spain, England, France, China, and India were sent here.

We’ll explore its Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting its four most famous temples: Wat Mahathat, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Chai Wattanaram, and Wat Pra Sri Sanphet.

At Wat Mahathat, we’ll see the famous Buddha head embraced by tree roots.

These temples are partially destroyed due to the Burmese attack in 1767 AD, which forced the Siamese to abandon the city and move south to found Bangkok and the Thai state.

The ruins date from the 14th to 18th centuries and are among the most photogenic and important in the country.

Transfer to Bangkok airport. Flight to Chiang Rai. Airport pickup* and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5 – Chiang Rai – White Temple – Blue Temple – Wat Huay Pla Kang – Chiang Mai

Hotel pickup: 09:00

Meals: Breakfast and lunch

In the morning, we’ll visit the White Temple, Wat Rong Khun. A temple unlike any other in Thailand, its bold design, strange decorations, and pure white color representing Buddha’s purity impress all visitors.

Construction began in 1997 and has no clear completion date.

We’ll also visit Wat Rong Suea Ten or the Blue Temple, the new gem of Chiang Rai.

Completed in 2016 (started in 2005), the temple is dominated by blue—the color of Dharma. Inside, we’ll find a large white Buddha image, also unusual.

Next, we’ll visit the Chinese temple of the Great Buddha, Wat Huay Pla Kang, known for its massive statue of Bodhisattva Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy.

Although not actually a Buddha statue, the site is popularly (and mistakenly) called “Big Buddha.”

Don’t miss climbing to the top level of the extravagant 9-story pagoda beside the giant statue for magnificent views of Chiang Rai and its surroundings.

Afterward, we’ll head to Chiang Mai.

Day 6 – Chiang Mai – Half Day at Kanta Elephant Sanctuary

Hotel pickup: 06:45–07:00

Meals: Breakfast

Early in the morning, we’ll head north of Chiang Mai through mountains, forests, and rice fields to reach Kanta Elephant Sanctuary (50 minutes away).

Upon arrival, we’ll dress as mahouts—elephant caretakers—and meet Asian elephants up close.

We’ll feed them in their natural environment and learn about them.

Then we’ll accompany them to the river for their daily bath, and if we wish, bathe with them.

Afterward, we’ll enjoy coffee, tea, and fruit before saying goodbye and returning to the hotel around noon.

No elephant riding is done at this park.

The visit is conducted in English and in small groups. It’s recommended to bring sandals, sunscreen, and a hat. And of course, your camera or phone!

Completed in 2016, this temple is dominated by a deep blue color representing Dharma. Inside, you’ll find a large white Buddha statue—an unusual and striking contrast.
